ABSTRACT

The article undertakes a comparative analysis between the Council of Europe Convention on Cybercrime and the United Nations Convention against Cybercrime, highlighting the main differences in terminology, structure, and scope of application. The analysis is critical in nature, considering both the necessity and the appropriateness of adopting a new international convention in the field of cybercrime, as well as its effects on the technique of criminalization at the national level. A central focus of the research is the risk of expanding the concept of cybercrime to encompass traditional offences committed by means of information technologies.
