Abstract
The constitutional configuration of the President's role standardized through Art. 80 of the Romanian Constitution cover three important aspects: state’s representation, the guarantee of national independence, unity and territorial integrity and ensuring the mediation between state powers and between state and society. Taking into account the new provisions introduced by the constitutional revision of 2003 by Art. 148, is distinguishable and a fourth part of the President role, shared in common with the Parliament, the Government and the judiciary: to ensure fulfillment of obligations assumed by Romania to the European Union.
