Professionals' obligations towards consumers between national and EU law: developments and perspectives

Abstract

This article systematically addresses the essential obligations incumbent on professionals in legal relations with consumers, taking as its starting point the structural asymmetry between the two parties and the need to strengthen trust in the European single market. The duties of manufacturers, service providers, and sellers, as regulated by the Consumer Code, related national legislation, and the main EU regulations, are presented in a systematic manner.
