ABSTRACT

Starting with July 2023 up until 1^st of January 2024, a series of legislative changes were adopted regarding the Romanian Criminal Code, the Criminal Procedure Code, as well as other laws, bringing changes to the entire criminal investigation process as a result. The changes come as a consequence of numerous events that have propagated a strong social impact at the level of Romanian society in the recent period, but they also result from the need for criminal investigative bodies to keep pace with crime development, in all its forms.
