In the context of an increased popularity of cryptocurrencies recently, it is important to understand how these digital assets can be transmitted, legally and efficiently, in the event of the death of their owner. This study analyses how cryptocurrencies work, going through technical aspects related to blockchain technology, cryptographic wallets and keys, as well as transactions and confirmations of operations.
