Child education in the legal architecture of parental authority

Abstract

Parental authority over the education of the child is an essential component of the rights and duties of parents. Education is understood in a broad sense: not only school instruction, but also the moral, spiritual, religious, and social formation of the child. The law and international conventions recognize parents' preferential right to choose the form of education, in accordance with the child's age and maturity. Parents have an obligation to cooperate with the school, respect the child's opinion, and ensure the child's education until the age of 18.
