The past three summer months saw an increased activity of interest for the international arbitration community with the ICC - through the ICC Commission on Arbitration and ADR - issuing on 3 July 2023 the Guide on Effective Conflict Management and the Report on Facilitating Settlement in International Arbitration said to benefit in particular in-house counsel in wide range of businesses, from SMEs to multinational corporations, as well as states and external counsel using ICC dispute resolution services, alongside arbitrators, mediators, and other ADR service provider by emphasising the differences and possible interactions between arbitration, mediation, expert determination, neutral evaluation, and dispute resolution.

On 7 July 2023, the EU Commission proposed that the EU, its Member States, and Euratom withdraw, in a coordinated manner, from the Energy Charter Treaty as to ensure the equal treatment of investors across the EU and beyond.
