ABSTRACT

On 4 June 2025, under the auspices of the sixth edition of the Bucharest Arbitration Days, the German Arbitration Institute (DIS), the DIS' young arbitration practitioners' group (DIS40) and the Young Romanian Arbitration Practitioners (YRAP) hosted an event under the title "DIScover Settlement Facilitation in Arbitration - German and CEE Perspectives". The conference featured a panel discussion on the topic "Reaching an Amicable Settlement in Arbitration: German, Romanian and Regional Perspectives" with Dr Cristina Alexe (ACEADVISOR, Bucharest), Rumen Cholakov (Three Verulam Buildings, London), Iuliana Iacob (Muşat & Asociaţii, Bucharest), Professor Stefan Kroll (President of DIS, Bonn/Berlin) and Malgorzata Surdek-Janicka (SURDEK Arbitration, Warsaw), moderated by Dr Evgenia Peiffer (CMS, Munich).
