ABSTRACT

The European legislator, noting the increasingly diversified scope of work on digital platforms, the specific nature of this activity, the lack of regulations regarding the legal nature of such activities, as well as the risks faced by workers, drafted Directive (EU) 2024/2831 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 23 October 2024, which we present below.

The purpose of the Directive, as stated in its very title and in point 1, is to improve working conditions, ensure the protection of personal data in platform work, determine the correct professional status of individuals carrying out professional activities under such conditions, establish minimum rights, and enhance their protection.
