ABSTRACT

The major negative impact of the economic crisis on labour law has led to the more and more perceivable diffusion - with the implementation of the small-steps method - of the liberal view according to which the present low economic performances and unemployment rates at European level are inversely proportional to the level of permissiveness of the legal framework under which economic operators can search for greater efficiency and competitiveness. Starting from this general idea, it is considered that economic performances and unemployment rates are, to a certain extent, inversely proportional to the level of protection granted by employment law to employees.
