Possible Legal Adaptations to the Need for Social (Physical) Distancing

Abstract

The spread of the new coronavirus and the measures taken to limit it brought to the fore the need to digitize the legal system, either in Romania and worldwide. This goal can be achieved through a set of measures such as electronic drafting of documents, their electronic communication, electronic verification of identity, etc. Moreover, the advantage of the moment is that information technology is already widely used in the legal field in general and in justice in particular. Thus, for example, the documents submitted by the parties are scanned, if they are not already drafted and sent electronically, and the videoconference is used in criminal and civil proceedings....
